WEB: Web Development Fund [0728.1998]

So much for rampant commercialism. :) Somebody came up with the idea for a Web Development Fund. It's like PBS for the web (and, in fact, PBS is involved).

You know, this is actually in business's best interest to help others out. The more good content (even if it's non commercial) there is on the web, the more people will surf. The more people surf, the more potential customers there are. And if done right, business on the web is a heck of a lot easier than business in the real world. It's a fun model, and everybody wins.

Oh, and by the way, one of their upcoming projects is a reverse-turing test: a site about convincing your computer that you're human. :)
