I had my review today. Sat down with the boss to discuss my past and future with the company.

I'd been thinking about it for a while. I knew something was missing from my career... I pinned it down. I wanted to be able to use my people skills more.

I told my boss that. Hey man, if we keep growing like this, we're going to need some hierarchy, some more leaders. I want to be one of them.

Get this. He was surprised.

You mean some people don't want that? You mean everyone's not like me? You mean you couldn't read my mind???

He said he was surprised, and he'd think about it for the future. Work me up to it. You know, a few months from now.

Something came up within the hour. A little project, but more than one person's work with our tight schedules. Would I want to manage this project with the two new guys as my resources?

Yes.
